Things can get mucky when you have a dog. So we'd recommend a dog bed with covers that can be easily removed and machine washed.
Hindquarters dog beds are oval shaped with a removable cover for both the central cushion and the bolster.
Once the covers are washed and dried, here are photos and instructions showing how to get covers back on a dog bed.
A medium sized inner dog bed with orange moleskin covers:
Hindquarters dog beds come in two parts - a central cushion and a surrounding bolster. Both parts of the dog bed have a cover.
The dog bed covers open and close with a velcro strip:
Start by putting a cover on the the central cushion. The cushion and cover are oval in shape - so the first step is to manoeuvre the cushion into its cover sideways:
Gently ease the cushion into its cover. As the cover goes on, turn the cushion slowly so that it fits the oval shape. Ensure the cover fits neatly on the oval cushion:
Fix the velcro strip:
Next, take the cover for the bolster part of the dog bed and line it up with the inner dog bed bolster:
Take the top of the dog bed - and insert it into the cover. Position the cover so that when assembled the velcro strip runs the length of the base of the dog bed:
Shove the cushion in bit by bit, gently push the last bit of the inner dog bed into the cover and adjust the cover so that it fits correctly.
Fix the velcro at the base of the dog bed and insert the central cushion:
